Method 1: Soft Tape Measure (Most Recommended)

This is the most accurate and convenient method, perfect for beginners:

 

Find the widest point: Measure the widest part of your nail (not the very base of your nail)

Follow the nail curve: Nails have a natural curve. Start your measurement from the left side of your nail bed

Pull tight and read: Pull the tape measure gently tight, extend it to the right side of your nail bed, and read the measurement in millimeters (mm)

 

Method 2: Ruler or App Method (If you don't have a soft tape)

If you don't have a soft tape measure, you can use a strip of paper and a regular ruler:

Take a narrow strip of paper and wrap it tightly around the widest part of your nail

Make clear marks on the paper at both starting and ending points

Lay the paper flat and measure the distance between the two marks using a regular ruler or a ruler app on your phone
